New Marketing Trends [Infographic]

The world of marketing has greatly changed since the introduction of digital practices. While a lot of things are different now, traditional marketers won’t find digital marketing unrecognizable. At the very core of digital marketing are traditional practices we have been using for decades, so those who are stuck with the old techniques can make the transition easily.

There aren’t enough excuses to stick with traditional marketing practices now that there are more convenient techniques to use. The new age of marketing is bringing with it a lot of opportunities and merits to go along with its accessibility and versatility.

One of the reasons why digital marketing continues to be strong is its dynamic nature. When people flocked social media, social media advertising rose to fame. When people began avoiding long video ads, digital marketers began creating 10-15 second ads that were more informative than the longer ones.

Whenever there’s a hurdle preventing the growth of digital marketing, there are new solutions that arise as well. For companies, this means an endless stream of possibilities and chances to make a mark in the industry they have positioned themselves in. Understandably, not every traditional marketer is willing to make the jump.

The shift to digital marketing may be easy, but it does require a lot of time, money, and effort. What marketers need to understand, though, is that digital transformation is the key to growth they have always been looking for throughout the years. What else is there to say about digital marketing?

Those who are still not convinced that digital marketing is the only way to go at this point have probably never seen the exciting trends waiting for the industry. Luckily, we’ve found a comprehensive list of the next digital marketing trends that are poised to shape the industry this 2019 onwards.

It is presented below in the form of an easy-to-digest visual content piece. Check it out.

Should I have video on my website?

Below is my latest article, posted on sulastudios.com.

——

It is amazing to watch how quickly technological and social advances change our culture. It was not too long ago when having a website and being on social media were the “things to do” to succeed online.

As we shared in a recent blog post, the attention span of the average adult is only 8.25 seconds! This is evident in how people now spend the majority of their time – quickly scrolling over images in their Instagram feed, swiping through FlipBoard, and turning to their phone during TV commercials.

We are visual. For most, we prefer images, infographics and of course video over reading long paragraphs of text. We want our information, and we want it quickly.

And I don’t blame anyone.

This is why social media platforms have made large shifts in their focus, giving higher priority to images and video content.

This is also why video is growing in popularity on websites. In our recent blog post, Why 2017 is the Year for Video Marketing, we shared that websites that contain video have on average an extra dwell time of 2+ minutes!

Think about that for a moment. If the average dwell time on your website is currently 1.5 minutes, adding videos may boost that up to 3.5 minutes or more!

The reason for the growth is simple. People are more willing to watch a short video describing your product, service or even company culture than they are to read long sections of text. This does not mean that text is not important – it is. However, what is more important is a balance of both video and text.

We would love the opportunity to help you brainstorm the best use of video for any of your digital efforts. Just shoot us a quick note at hello@sulastudios.com. We would love to treat you to coffee and strategize about the best methods to help you reach your goals.

As we talked about in our recent blog post, 2017 is right around the corner!

Sure, we still have a couple of months left of 2016, but let’s be honest, those are filled with holiday celebrations, vacations and time with family. Before we all know it, we will be counting down the seconds to the new year!

Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves, it is still October, but with all of the busy-ness of the remaining months of the year, it is important to start preparing now to kick off the new year with a bang.

January is a great month push your product or service hard, as many people do not properly plan for the holidays and time out of the office. Once they get back in the office in January, it takes a few weeks to ramp up their efforts to promote themselves or their products/services correctly.

Vimeo, YouTube or Facebook?

Below is my latest article, posted on sulastudios.com.

——

There are many platforms available to post your video to, and it can be overwhelming to know which one is the best for your application.

We are here to help.

The quick answer – all of them.

Each of these three platforms, YouTube / Vimeo / Facebook, have benefits over the other platforms, and by posting your video to each of them, you are getting the combined results of all of them working together.

Let’s break them down.

Vimeo.com

Vimeo is a powerful and very professional platform. It is a great avenue to host your videos on, especially if you are sending proofs for others to view, or embedding videos into your website. They have very robust tools to allow easy integration into your current site and allow you the ability to brand / customize the viewing experience for your users.

It has detailed analytics built in to allow you to track information about your viewers.

The downside to Vimeo is that there are additional fees for the professional levels of the software.

Vimeo, YouTube or Facebook?

YouTube.com

YouTube is currently the second most searched search engine that exists, right behind Google. Interestingly, they are also owned by Google, which means there is a seamless integration of your videos appearing in search results on Google.

Due to the large traffic that YouTube receives, posting your videos to YouTube opens the door for incredible potential, allowing for millions of users to potentially find your videos organically.

YouTube has powerful search algorithms built in, and constantly shows recommended videos next to the current video they are watching. These recommendations are built on previous videos they have viewed and search terms they have entered in the past.

Due to these recommends, the average mobile viewer on YouTube spends 40 minutes watching videos, often because their attention is captured from recommended videos.

With YouTube, it is easily possible for your videos to get thousands of views from people who have never heard of you before, all based off of their searches.

Vimeo, YouTube or Facebook?

Facebook.com

Facebook is currently the largest social platform that exists, with 1.13 billion active users daily. At the same time, Facebook boasts they receive 8 billion video views on average every day. In recent years, Facebook has put tremendous energy and focus towards videos and has seen video take off among users.

Posting your video to Facebook increases your social reach, and puts it in front of the eyes of your followers on Facebook. Due to the focus on video at Facebook, Facebook places your videos in front of your followers more than photo or text posts. According to Facebook, video posts get an average 135% greater organic reach than posts that contain just a photo.

Vimeo, YouTube or Facebook?

By posting your videos to each of these platforms, you get the professionalism of Vimeo, the organic traffic from YouTube, and the increased social reach on your Facebook page. Together, you are getting the best impact of your video, which in return boosts your brand visibility and sales.

If you have any questions regarding these platforms, I would love to help. Shoot me an email at justin@sulastudios.com, and I would love to connect and help you through this journey.
